Pop Singer Katy Perry Biography

Katy Perry was born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson in Santa Barbara, California, the middle child of the pastor, Maria Christine (Perry) and parents Maurice Keith Hudson. She has an older sister and a younger brother and has English, Portuguese, German, Irish and Scottish descent. Her mother's half-brother was director Frank Perry.

She signed with a Christian label Red Hill and recorded an album under her birth name Katy Hudson. The album was not a success. At 17 she moved to Los Angeles and worked with producer Glen Ballard, but not sustainable to maintain record participation. Perry signed in 2004 to Columbia Records, but it again proves to be successful, and it was abandoned.

A framework to Columbia recommended Perry to Virgin Records chairman Jason Flom, which led to her signing with Capitol Music Group. She took the second album, "One of the Boys" and the spring of 2008 launched the first single, the controversial "I Kissed a Girl". The song was a great success, reaching number a slot in several countries. Further successes followed and the album was a commercial success.

Perry now established itself as a pop star and has its position with the release of her next album "Teenage Dreams" consolidated, which produces more results, including "California Gurls" and "Firework". Numerous awards and records followed the music industry. In 2012, Perry moved to the film, the release of the documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me (2012).
